Lying beneath a celestial canvas on a sultry summer night

Heady jasmine envelops us, seducing with intoxicating sweetness

A kiss of honey wafts as date palms gently sway nearby

Inviting us to surrender

In the distance, moonlight frames the ziggurat

Nanna surveys his domain, curiously observing the dance

This night feels significant, monumental…yet fragile

My soul returning to the source

A waking dream in this ancient marshy land

You constrain me, my love, as the river becomes a torrent

A backdrop of oblivion, our forms begin to blur

I dream of those nights

In the gardens of Ur

Beautiful date palms under the night sky
